Transform your field trip into an adventure in STEM. A STEMventure invites students to discover the STEM Experience Center through self-guided exploration, hands-on engagement, and playful learning. By following their curiosity and interacting with the campus environment, students build connections to STEM concepts in ways that are both meaningful and memorable.
For just $8 per student, your group can enjoy the freedom to explore the STEM Experience Center at their own pace while experiencing STEM in action. There is also ample outdoor space available for groups of any age or size to relax and enjoy a picnic lunch, making it easy to turn your visit into a full day of learning and fun.
Physical activity and experiential learning go hand in hand. Add a facilitated outdoor recreation experience to your STEM Experience Center visit and give students the opportunity to apply teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills in a dynamic outdoor setting.

Students will gain a basic understanding of butterflies by learning about their anatomy and life cycle. Students will also participate in activities that focus on butterfly migration. Included in your visit will be a stop at our local butterfly garden to discover the role of butterflies and other pollinators within the ecosystem.

Through this experience, students will explore the local environment at Camp Dellwood. In this workshop, students will take a closer look at how potential and kinetic energy, along with Newton’s Laws of Motion, affect how a vehicle travels. They will conduct a series of engineering challenges to design, build, and test various vehicles to illustrate these relationships.

In this workshop, students will explore the relationship between several of Camp Dellwood’s amenities and the world of physics. For example, students may spend some time at our jumping pillow conducting investigations allowing them to experience Newton’s Laws of Motion in action. Or it’s a visit to our archery range where they can try their hand at shooting a bow and arrow while also taking a closer look at projectile motion.

What is the difference between a chemical reaction and a mixture? Students will have the opportunity to discover the answer to this question through a series of hands-on experiments, such as building a bouncy ball polymer, make observations of how liquids in a mixture behave when making a lava lamp. They will finish up with seeing how energy can be transferred during a chemical reaction.
